The U.S. economy saw a solid gain of 263,000 jobs in April with a revised gain of 189,000 jobs in March. With 820,000 jobs in the first four months of 2019, the U.S. is poised to add 2.46 million jobs this year, which is on par with the 2018 gain. Looking at the pace of growth from a six-month moving average perspective, the momentum of growth has fallen a bit from the second half of 2018, but it is still above the level seen in 2017.
